Dnd 2024 Rule Changes. Instead of restoring hitpoints, you can add the 1d10 to the ability check. As explained in a recent video on the dungeons and dragons youtube channel, the new rules are less punishing and intended to make combat more balanced.

The new species offered are the aasimar, goliath, and orc, but you’ll also see changes to classics such as the human. Ironically, the 2024 monster manual doesn’t actually release in 2024 but it seems there were practical reasons for staggering.
